Snowy Mongolia tour

Summer is touristic season in Mongolia. If you avoid tourist crowd, why not you come to Mongolia in winter time? We warmly welcome our tourists even in cold winter time. There are many befits to travel to Mongolia during winter season. One biggest advantage is very low touristic flow as we mentioned. Moreover, if you desiring to feel genuine atmosphere of winter with cold and snow it’s better to plan your trip in winter. As a similar to our All in one tour, our team attempted to cover some core natural and cultural part during your winter stay.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Pick-up at the airport and rest.

Day 2:   City tour

We will start our trip from the main Buddhist monastery in Mongolia- Gandan monastery. Later we will head to the National history museum of Mongolia, where you can gain great knowledge about our history and culture. Then, you can visit the central square- Chingis square and the government house before lunch. After having lunch, we will go to the Zaisan memorial for getting city view from the high spot.

Day 3:   Ski resort

Whether you are first time skier or an experienced skier, visiting a ski resort in Ulaanbaatar will be fun experience.

Day 4:   Kharkhorin the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire

On day 3, we will drive to Kharkhorin town, where the Mongol Empire’s capital- Kharkhorum was existed! Upon arriving, we will go to both the Kharkhorum museum and Erdenezuu monastery. The Kharkhorum museum contains amazing displays of archeological finds from the Orkhon Valley area, which is listed on the World Heritage site by UNESCO. We will learn exciting historical facts and see ancient artifacts in this museum. 

Erdenezuu is the first Buddhist Monastery in Mongolia, founded in 1586. Even though the monastery construction began in the 16th century, Erdenezuu was originally built with ruins of Kharkhorum city (13th century), making it over 800 years old!

Day 5:   Khustai National Park (nomad family stay)

Khustai National Park is a protected area which is a home to an astounding 459 species of plants, 126 species of birds, and 44 species of mammals, including red deer, Mongolian gazelle, roe deer, grey wolf, and wild horses. Currently, there are nearly 350 of Przewalski wild horses. In this park, we can learn about Przewalski’s history, and see them in their natural environment.

Moreover, we will stay at a nomad family in the area. Even in cold winter, the nomads live in their traditional dwelling called “ger”, which can be built within 30 minutes, and it is suitable housing between the temperature of -40C and +40C outside. We are sure that you can learn from their survival and adaptive skill during your short stay. 

Day 6:   Drive back to UB

Drive back to the capital city.
